Goal Post SLEAFORD u9'S ENDURED A LONG AND VERY HARD SEASON IN THE MID LINCS 'A' LEAGUE. TRAINING STARTED WITH ONLY 5 PLAYERS, BUT WE MANAGED TO GET 8 SIGNED ON!! WE LOST OUR FIRST 8 GAMES INCLUDING A HEAVY 1ST ROUND DEFEAT TO RUSTON 'A'. THEN AROUND XMAS WE GOT ANOTHER 3 PLAYERS. THIS INCREASED OUR ABILITY AND CONFIDENCE AND WE WON OUR FIRST GAME AT THE END OF JAN. OTHER VICTORIES FOLLOWED, INCLUDING WINS OVER NETTLEHAM AND A DOUBLE OVER FOURTH PLACED BIRCHWOOD. THE TEAM SAVED THEIR BEST PERFORMANCE WITH A 0-0 DRAW AGAIGNST DOUBLE WINNNING SIDE GONERBY.
DESPITE FINISHING 11 OUT OF 12 TEAMS, THE PLAYERS CAN FEEL PROUD OF HOW THEY HAVE IMPROVED OVER THE YEAR.
