Work Commences on the New Sleaford Town Ground

On the 19th June 2006, work commenced on the new Sleaford Town ground.

First the area was very kindly sprayed and cleared by Steve Priestly, the former resident Farmer of the Field.

Then Trent Valley started work with the Club house & car park areas stripped of all top soil to lay bare the archeological points of interest.

The Archeologists were on site for 3 weeks mapping the site and uncovering some interesting findings such as the Roman Road between Sleaford St Botolphs Church & Heckington Church. The village settlement outline could also be seen.

During this time, Trent Valley levelled the pitches in preparation for the seed.
